How would you have responded to the Wiley painting/sculpture without the original by work? Are your thoughts on the meaning different than if you had seen it in isolation? Does the new image change the meaning or import of the earlier image?

You might think about this using the ways you would describe the image first. How would you describe the image you see? Next, think about if this image was in a different place, would you describe it differently? How? Compare your two descriptions, how are they similar or different? Finally, what about the context of the image: what is around it? Where is it located? How is it being used? Would your answers to these questions be different if the image was in a different place or being used for a different reason?

This is asking strictly for YOUR opinion. What are YOUR thoughts on this subject. Go ahead and give it a try. It’s a great exercise for sharpening your brain, and the answer requires only an opinion—not facts.01/11/23
