It would be perfectly correct to ask someone,"Do you go to school today?".
Imagine waking up, coming in for breakfast and seeing your roommate and asking them, "do you go to school today?" or "do you work today?".
The second part where they reply "But I don't go because I am not well" is incorrect. They haven't gone yet so the correct phrasing should be, "But I'm not going because I'm not well".
It would probably be most common to hear it phrased; "Do you have school today?", "Yes, but I'm not going because I don't feel well."
