Impulse = mass*Δv ... vxinitial = 600cos(75)=155.3 m/s ... vyinitiial = 600sin(75)=579.5 m/s ... Δvx=2*155.3=310.6m/s and Δvy= 0 thus Δv=310.6 and Impulse = 310.6*mass (not given)

asked 06/30/22Physics: calculate the impulse
A molecule with initial velocity of v = 600 m/s strikes into a container wall. The angle between molecule's initial direction and the wall is α = 25°. The collision is absolutely elastic. Calculate the impulse the wall receives when the molecule strikes.
