Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

I can be of help in this subject area creating example problems and showing methods to build understanding. Subjects areas include solving polynomials for the roots; equations for lines, parabolas, hyperbolas, circles, etc. Help with understanding graphs and word problems.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

I can be of great help in this subject area creating example problems, showing methods to help understanding. Subjects areas include solving polynomials for the roots; equations for lines, parabolas, hyperbolas, circles, etc.
Calculus,

Calculus

Pre-Calculus, Calculus I, II, III are subject areas that I can help with. The understanding of Limits leading up to the definition of the derivative are critical to understand the basics of the Calculus. Later using derivatives to solve word problems including rates and some analytical geometry. Integral Calculus comes later using that to calculate areas and solve problems involving Newtonian physics. Calculus III involves multiple integrals and three dimensional vector calculus for those students pursuing Science and Engineering degrees.
Physics,

Physics

Physics is really a broad subject covering the laws of motion through the basic nature of matter. I am experienced and knowledgeable in: Newtonian physics, the laws of motion defined originally by Isaac Newton including the 1st, 2nd and 3rd laws covering Ballistics, Statics, Dynamics, Impulse & Momentum and, Fluid mechanics. Forces due to electric and magnetic fields including the work of Coulomb, Maxwell, Faraday and others. I am very familiar with electric circuits and the quantitative analysis associated with them.

Differential Equations,

Differential Equations

I studied Differential equations as both Math courses as well as analysis courses in Electrical Engineering. I am most familiar with LaPlace transform method of solving linear equations. There are a lot of "tricks" involved that mathematicians have devised over the years and it takes practice to use them. I can help you solve problems creating examples for later reference.
Electrical Engineering,

Electrical Engineering

I hold a BSEE degree from University of Missouri and am a registered professional engineer in Missouri. I have worked as an Engineer and Engineering Manager and later as manufacturing and program manager roles for medical device companies. I can help you with active and passive circuit analysis problems using Node voltage & Mesh current methods as well as Ohm's and Kirchhoff's laws.

Knowledgeable in Calculus 2, Series and integration

Stephen helped with an array of problems for Calculus II, he is really knowledgeable in the topic. I definitely recommend you choose this tutor if you are looking for help in Calculus!

Kathya, 3 lessons with Stephen
Tutor responded:

Thanks, Kathya! You are too kind!

Great Session

Stephen was very patient. He went over each problem and narrowed it down step by step. He showed where I went wrong on each problem and what I needed to do to get back on track. His explanations were clear and concise. He presented the material in a new light that made it easy to understand. He also sent hand written notes of what we covered. Definitely will be working with him again very soon.

Very knowledgeable and patient

Stephen knows electrical engineering... Period. I had some transformer theory problems I was not understanding and he was able to work me through the lesson and explain concepts in a simple way. He's got real world experience in the lessons he teaches, with the theoretical principles to back it up.

So Rich with Math Knowledge

Stephen was awesome at answering key concepts and problems our student in Honors Precalculus. Stephen was very clear and easy to understand. Following his problem solving methods was extremely helpful. He was also able to help us through instant book and we look forward to this tutelage, again.

Loc, 19 lessons with Stephen
Tutor responded:

A pleasure working with you both and wish your daughter success!

Knowledgeable and Patient

Stephen helped me with Calculus II. He explained things great. He was more then willing to stop and expand on his explanation if needed. Also, we were able to get through several problems throughout the lesson, which made it well worth the price. Stephen was a great help!

Mikayla, 33 lessons with Stephen
Tutor responded:

Mikayla it was terrific hearing that your grades were very positive ... these subjects are not for the lightweight students as they require effort and time to develop the understanding needed!

Super helpful!

Stephen was super concise and clear, made understanding the concepts easy to understand and explained them in ways I COULD understand. I have a final tomorrow which I needed to review for and he was super patient in reviewing all of the sample problems with me. Feeling MUCH more confident for my Calc final than I was before! Thank you Stephen!

Brenda, 1 lesson with Stephen
Tutor responded:

Thanks Brenda for your kind words. I'm pleased that you are feeling more confidant and wish that you do very well in your Calculus but in your career! Remember, send me questions anytime and I will return the answer for no charge! Steve

Patient and caring tutor

I was working on Calculus 1 and he helped me approach some of the concepts that I was struggling with from a different perspective which proved to be very beneficial.

Maris, 4 lessons with Stephen
Tutor responded:

You're welcome Maris and don't forget that if you have questions in the future, send them to me and I will provide the answer at no charge.

Great at explaining concepts!

Instead of just focusing on math, Mr. Stephen has helped me fully understand physics on a greater scope! This ultimately helps me understand the equations and accurately answer the questions.
