Correlation analyses are frequently used to assess convergent and discriminant validity in survey validation studies. For example, I published a study validating a survey on multidimensional mattering which uses correlational anaylsis for convergent validity.
So, an easy way to go about this would be to use Google Scholar or a journal repository in any library and search "Scale validation convergent validity XXYY", where XXYY is a topic of interest to you.
Google Scholar has an easy function that allows you to copy and paste an APA, MLA, or other format reference. I use it frequently for that purpose.
As for summarizing the paper, that will depend on the paper, but are there are numerous useful guides online. For instance: https://writingcenter.uconn.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/593/2014/06/How_to_Summarize_a_Research_Article1.pdf.
Good luck!
