Chapter 4 : Daisy’s Diary entries

Question

At the end of chapter 4, Jordan tells Nick the story of Daisy and Gatsby’s romance and of Daisy and Tom’s. The story of Daisy’s romance and marriage, however, is told from Jordan’s perspective. Rewrite the story, having Daisy tell it herself, using first-person point of view. Write the entry as if Daisy was writing it in a secret diary.

 Start your entry with “Dear Diary,”

 Put a date (try and figure out when from the text)

 Include at least two specific details from the text(not quotes, but details that show me you’ve

read)

 You may wish to embellish some details from the text, but don’t deviate too far from the story.

 Write in a manner that is consistent with Daisy’s speaking voice. Don’t use words Daisy

wouldn’t use.

 For some bonus points, try and make it look like a real old diary entry.

 You may type or handwrite your diary entry, but please make it neat.
