If you were to write an informal addition of this paragraph, think of it similar to writing a summary. Remember though, a summary references an original work. Your informal version would not be a reference to the formal version; it would be consider the original paragraph. You cover the main points the paragraph addresses without restating or changing the meaning. As you discuss the main points, make sure they follow the same order as the formal addition while leaving out the fillers. With informal writing, the addition of slang, contractions, and abbreviations can be used.
My version of the paragraph would cover the main points without all the filler. For example, in the first sentence, "In the beginning of his quest, Gansey receives help while Ender is left in isolation," I would remove the "filler" information at the beginning. Although it provides more information for the reader as to when it happened, it is not needed to make the point that Gansey received help while Ender was in isolation.
