This question is a little ambiguous because of the use of the term "byproducts". This is usually taken to mean products that are not of great importance. The main products of glycolysis (conversion of glucose to pyruvate) would be pyruvate (of course) and water (H2O) and protons (H+), and heat energy. You also produce NADH and ATP, but these probably aren't considered as byproducts. So, the best answer might be
a) water, H2O
b) H+
or
a) water, H2O
b) energy
