Identifying Errors

The answer key only showed the underlined words having the errors, but it didn't have an explanation. I'm not sure if my answers are correct. I asked the opinions of other people and they gave me different answers. Some says that there's no error on the underlined words and my answer key is incorrect. Please explain what's wrong. Thank you

1. There have been recent additions to the library such as new books and magazines dealing with science.

-should it be "that deal with science"? Why is "dealing with science" wrong?

2. Rafael wishes to be employed, but neither the salary nor the work itself offer any inducement to him.

-"offer" to "offers"? or "any" to "an"? I think it should be "offers" since "the work itself" is singular, but someone answered that it should be "offer an inducement to him."

3. The Labor Secretary will meet representatives of the entertainment industry tomorrow to discuss problems affecting the working conditions of Filipino workers abroad.

-I don't know what's wrong with the underlined words. Most people answered that it has no error.

4. The bright fiberglass sculptures of Luis Jimenez has received critical claim not only in his home state, New Mexico, but also in New York.

-"has" to "have"? and "claim" to "acclaim"? I'm not sure with this. I think it should be "have" because "sculptures" is plural. Some said that "claim" is correct, but I think it should be "acclaim"

5. The decision that has just been agreed with by the committee members should serve as a basis for their work in the years to come.

-I don't get it

6. The importance of broadening the base of participation at the local level is recognized and the structure of local governments are now undergoing study and revision.

-"are" to "is"? Where are we basing this? I think the local governments are plural
