Hi, you may find the films of Lucio Fulci fit right into this category – Zombi 2 takes place in the caribbean; the zombified bodies of indigenous people and ancient colonizers alike rise up to munch on our unsuspecting protagonists. There's a sense of a repressed colonial history and violence rising back up in literal zombified form, the bones which modernity is built on.
Night of the Living Dead (and all of Romero's zombie movies) is a another classic example of a zombie film which uses the zombified body as an allegory for marginalized or oppressed people – in this case, the African American experience.
I hope that helps!
