asked 07/29/21Reflection on Wollstonecraft's theory
In at least eight substantial (not super short) sentences, tell me whether girls are still raised differently from boys, and explain how you feel about that. Connect your ideas to Wollstonecraft's theories( a vindication of the rights of woman) You can quote or not, but you should be very specific and show that you have engaged deeply with the text.

Again, just to reiterate, Wollstonecraft is calling for education equal to that of a man, but conceding that women are not exactly the equals to men, only morally and in God’s eyes. The main thing I suggest you hit on is to bring her theory into the present. Wollstonecraft was well-to-do and had some education and could read and write when most of the lower classes could not. Does that make her a hypocrite? Have we made progress on that? Is there still a disparity between classes—between sexes?

I should also state that people view this as one of the first feminist works—yet it is classist. Be sure to include the measures and gains we’ve gotten, as far as inclusion in classroom for education. Not just boys and girls as Wollstonecraft was concerned with. Lastly, do NOT forget that Wollstonecraft was not arguing for education for ALL women or better education for ALL women.09/10/21
