Hello, for people who have had covid or received a vaccine for it, their bodies have a memory of the virus that allows them to fight back an infection from covid in the future.
But if you're asking if we are evolving to better combat the virus, then no I don't think we are. Adaptations require that the species reproduces and their progeny adapt to the situation. We might be able to adapt to the virus if we were able to reproduce more quickly , but because the virus is able to reproduce more quickly and thus accumulate more advantageous mutations, it will always be able to outpace any type of evolutionary adaptations that we aquire. This is especially true if the total number of viruses is very high, because that allows for more chances of mutations.
So no, we are not adapting to the virus, but covid does evolve to spread more quickly. Interestingly this doesn't necessarily mean that a virus will always become more deadly, it may just become more infectious as we have seen with the omicron variant
