In this problem, 70% (.70) of the final results is 82%; the remaining percent of the final grade (30%) .30 is the grade on the final exam.
If the weighted average of her grade must be 90% then the 30% of the final grade that the final examination contributes must be high enough to bring the total class grade to 90%.
90% = .70(82) + .30(x) where x equals the grade on the final exam.
90% =57.4% + .30x
32.6% = .30 x
X = 109%
Assuming that 100% is the maximum score on the final, the 90% final grade can not be attained.
