See attached video. What the question is asking you to do is switch from 3rd to 1st person, and to summarize.
3rd person is the way the author of Hatchet tells the story. Note that Brian, the main character, is not telling the story himself. Instead, it's an invisible narrator. We know this because he said things like "Brian built a campfire." If it were Brian speaking, that sentence would be "I built a campfire." What you are essentially doing is summarizing the events of the section you read, and putting it in first person. In other words, you are Brian. Tell the reader the important things that happened to you in the section of the novel you read. It would be good to include what you think Brian would be thinking and feeling, as well as descriptions of what he sees, hears, feels and smells. It looks like more than a paragraph is expected, so I would shoot for 3, or 2 at the very least.
