Hi Londyn,
So a statistical question is any type of question that can be answered by collecting numerical data that has variability to it. For example: if you owned a farm and I asked you "How much do all of your farm animals weigh?", that would be a statistical question because you presumably own multiple animals, and it's safe to assume that each animal is going to have a different weight (which is your variability, aka differences in numbers).
D obviously is not a statistical question because the name of a cat is not a numerical value.
C is not a statistical question, because there is only one numerical answer for C, hence you cannot collect any numerical data that would have variability between numbers.
A is not a statistical question because it is asking for the number of cats you own, which would only be one number. However, it could be a statistical question if it asked "How many cats of different breeds do you own?" This would be a statistical question because you can answer with multiple numbers that have variability among them, for example: you could say I have 1 gray cat, 1 black cat, 2 orange cats, and 4 mixed color cats. Since this question only asks for the number of cats you own in total, it is not be a statistical question.
B would be the correct choice. The reason being that not all cats in animal shelters will share the same age. So if you go and collect data on the ages of cats in a shelter, you will get a wide range of different age values (aka availability).
