Hi Jamie,
If you are asking those of us who are tutors this question, my answer is that I think online learning has many benefits. Although not as personal/human or creative as in-person instruction, online learning allows students to gain an education in the comfort and console of their own homes in more peaceful environment than they would experience in a more intense, stimulating, fast-paced school setting. For those students (and teachers) who are naturally more introverted, this is a highly welcoming experience on the whole! Online learning also allows students to exercise and expand their growing technological skills in the increasingly digital, futuristic world that they will inherit and ultimately expand as adults themselves before too long. Plus, since teachers are not physically present during the school day, online learning encourages students to take more initiative and become more independent when it comes to carrying out their coursework and finding answers to immediate questions on their part. When it comes to turning in their work (on time), students can confirm such statuses by seeing whether or not they themselves submitted their completed assignments at their online classrooms.
So even though online learning is not for everyone, it is an ultimately equitable option for those who prefer to learn, work, grow, and operate under circumstances such as those outlined above.
