I'm over 60 and I'm still learning to draw better every day! If you love it, stick with it. The big mistake I see people make is that they don't fully research the subject they want to draw (or Paint). Research the heck out of whatever it is you wish to represent visually. You can never get enough info, visual reference or spend too much time making studies of your subject.
Remember this: It's not how hard you try, it's how long you stay at it!

Demystifying Visual Art
It's never too late to start. Art is a learnt skill, meaning, once you understand HOW art is created you can create anything you want using any medium. The key is breaking it down is small actionable steps. This is how I teach my students. I teach the fundamentals and science of art. With the right knowledge and application, anyone can learn to draw at any age.

It's never a bad time to learn a new skill and explore your creativity! I've taught beginners from ages 7 to 80+ years old. As long as you enjoy it and get something from it. then go for it! When I teach drawing I focus on the subject matter that interests my students most so it's not only educational but enjoyable.

Heck no! As one teacher said above, making art is about "seeing," which can happen anytime, anywhere. It's also about life experience. Whatever your background, it will work for you in art. I had a woman in her 90's on a walker who kicked everyone's but in my rigorous figure drawing class. She was very nervous at the start. Every discipline is useful, and it will translate. I know it seems overwhelming, since there's so much history, but gaining expertise isn't linear in art, especially when your'e older. Stay open to new techniques, play with new toys, and allow yourself to experiment. There is no failure in art, just new possibilities.

Age is nothing but a number! It is NOT too late for you to learn to draw. I believe everyone has the ability...it's just about the willingness to allow your creativity to awaken by following simple instructions that unlock your unique expression of art. Another tip that is very important...never compare your work to anyone else's. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Not at all! It's not about when you start, but how often you practice and learning the tips and tricks that will help you be successful.

Drawing is about learning to "see." If you are a lifelong learner and have are continually curious and willing to put the time and effort into it, you'll discover that you have the ability to improve your skills.
I think the fallacy is that often people think that skills such as art and music solely rely on inborn ability, when in fact often those who are best at it, have been schooled and trained in it all their lives. Of course there are the few that are exceptional in these fields, just as there are prodigy mathematicians and sports athletes. But, the vast majority of people who excel at art are those who put the time and effort into it, as well as being guided by someone who already knew how to do it.
If you have the desire and time to devote to increasing your drawing abilities, you will be able to do it.

Your success is my happiness!
Your memories help a lot to provide much more sense to your art. Much more than when you start, the important thing is how much do you enjoy performing whatever you are learning. I find passion much more important than age or even than natural talent. I mean, I know professional artists that in some point stopped feeling passion for drawing and it made them not just stop progressing but also -in some cases- to stop practicing and years later some of them cannot even draw anymore.

I'm a professional artist, I can teach anyone to draw and paint
It is never too late to learn a skill like drawing or painting. You can learn as much as a teen can learn with the right tutor. Age adds more to the process, in fact, all the expertise and past memories can help produce meaningful art. You can learn all the techniques and tricks just like anyone else no matter what your age is.
