asked • 04/27/21three times a number less than six---math word problem
three times a number that is obviously 3x but then the less than six im not sure about im pretty sure "than" is a turnaround word which means that the number is written after the variable but im not sure so right now im thinking its 3x-6 and not 6-3x but it never hurts to check! thank you!

Maybe they are asking for an inequality?
x < 6 -> 3x <18
You definitely need clarification.
