In Macbeth, the primary internal conflict is his loss of sanity. After murdering Duncan and Banquo, Macbeth starts to see apparitions and hear voices belonging to those that were slain. An external conflict would be the pressure that Lady Macbeth put on him to murder in the first place, she threatened his manhood and called him a coward if he didn't take these measures to get to the throne. The entire final act could also be considered an external conflict, Macduff finally confronts Macbeth about his crimes and he is killed.
