If you read the second paragraph of Rudyard Kipling carefully, you will be able to determine which phrase adds elements that are not in the original writing.
The first phrase is word-for word what Kipling wrote. The following three each paraphrase the scene but two add elements not in the original writing.
A careful reading will show that the first statement adds the element that Teddy was scared of water which is not an element of the original. The second statement does not add any elements not stated in the original. The third statement adds the feelings of the parents saying that they were more than pleased, the original does not portray those exact feelings.
You will have to read the paragraph in the story and decide which has or does not have elements added which Kipling did not say in his original writing.
