Matt and Julie are selling fruit. Customers can buy small boxes of oranges and large boxes of oranges. Matt sold 3 small boxes and 14 large boxes for a total of $203. Julie sold 11 small boxes and 11 large boxes of oranges for $220. Find the cost of a small box of oranges and large box of oranges.

11S +11L = 220

multiply 1st by 11 and 2nd by 3, then subtract to eliminate S and solve for L

33S + 154L = 2233

33S + 33L = 660

121L = 1573

L = 1573/121 = $13 for large box of oranges

3S = 203 - 14(13)

S = 21/3 = $7 for a small box of oranges

3(7) + 14(13) = 203

11(7)+ 11(13) = 220
