A triangle with two side that are perpendicular is a right triangle. Triangle PQR has vertices P(3,3), Q(2,-2) R(0,1). Determine weather PQR is a right triangle. Explain.

find the slope of PR and the slope of RQ

if the slopes are negative reciprocals of each other the line segments are perpendicular to each other and the triangle is a right triangle

slope of PR...

(3-1)/(3-0)=2/3

slope of RQ...

(-2-1)/(2-0)=-3/2

2/3 and -3/2 are negative reciprocals of each other so the line segments are perpendicular and you have a right triangle
