Then, do your own textual analysis on the poem, by answering the following questions:

1. Name THREE textual elements that you see working in the poem.
2. Provide at least ONE specific example of each of those three elements (i.e. how it actually appears in the poem). 
3. In 2-3 sentences, explain why you think the poet made these particular textual choices and/or how these choices contribute to the overall message/thesis of the poem.

Hi Aneeqa! Your teacher is asking you to dissect the poem. The first question that you need to ask yourself is "what is a textual element?" Following that question, you should then determine what parts of that poem consist of textual elements. How is this poem constructed? What is the poet saying? To whom is he speaking? Why is he saying what he is saying?
