1. According to the text, how does history develop predictably over time? Cite evidence from the article in your response.

Re-read the four turnings of history section. The four turnings are: high, awakening, unraveling, and crisis. Your answer to the question is the four turnings. Then you can use the examples shared in the article as your evidence. Depending on what your teacher expects, you may or may not need to give evidence for all four turnings.

Diction is word choice. You could reread the article and look for words that are most opinionated. But I would focus on on the structure. The article uses bullets, numbers, historical events, historical figures, and direct quotes from S&H. Do not neglect conclusion regarding the reliability of the theory. There is skepticism about the theory being too general to be useful.
