Hello! In any sentence, the verb is the part of speech or part of the sentence, where the person, place, thing, etc. that the sentence is about (also known as the subject of the sentence) is DOING something. Verb are anything that we can do. Great examples of verbs are words like: cook, look, think, take, borrow, bake, sleep, text, call, make, cheat, whisk, run, jump, sit, or walk. Again, if you can DO it, it is a verb. However, an adverb is any word that provides more description to how, why, or in what fashion a verb is performed. Great examples of adverbs are words like: slowly cook, carefully look, seriously think, neatly take, etc. Notice, the adverb examples here end in -ly, but be careful: not ALL adverbs end in -ly. Thank you for asking!
