Hello, and happy holidays!
To help you get started, I wanted to provide some tips.
Ensure your research comes from credible sites. This can include health organizations, reports, and scholarly articles. Avoid using blogs and sites ending in ".com" for essays like this. Also, cite any information that isn't your own ideas or isn't commonly known. Once you have researched, you can decide on the three main points for your assignment.
Ensure the introduction has an attention grabber and introduces the topic. One way to grab the reader's attention is through a statistic, or another fact, or a question. It is meant to help them begin thinking about the overall topic. Then, essentially tell the reader what your essay will be about. The thesis statement should be the last sentence of the introduction.
Additionally, make sure your thesis is specific. One of the easiest ways to do this would be, "Advertisements for junk food are harmful to society because of x, y, and z." Ensure the three body paragraphs each coincide with x, y, or z; the paragraphs must tie back to the thesis. This involves having topic sentences. For example, "X is a consequence of junk food advertising." Then, the rest of the paragraph will provide evidence and examples. The evidence and examples will stem from your research.
The conclusion is meant to summarize the main points of the essay. No new information should be given. Instead, reword the thesis and the three points you discussed. You can also include a "call to action" if you want. What do you want your audience to do with or because of the information given?
I hope these tips help you as you write your essay. If you have more questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Have a great day!

Hello,
Thank you for posting your question on Wyzant. It appears you need to write an MLA format essay. I will kindly give you the guideline to help you.
- First Paragraph: Introduction - introduce your topic without giving away any answers. (Optional: add a question to help catch your readers' attention.)
- Second Paragraph: Body Paragraph 1 - state your opinion or facts about the topic. (Add a key factor and detail about it.)
- Third Paragraph: Body Paragraph 2 - write against your own facts and/or talk about flaws of the topic. (To make it easier, pretend you are a person against your topic/own idea. - Opposing Side.)
- Fourth Paragraph: Body Paragraph 3 - tell why Paragraph 3's (opposing side) facts are wrong and/or why your idea/topic is better than the mistakes it may or appear to have. (Go against the opposing side with better detail and true facts that counterattack it's faults in the 3rd Paragraph.)
- Fifth Paragraph: Conclusion - give your final thoughts about the topic. Make it very nice, like glorifying your idea, and then end it with a great sentence. (This is the Grand Finale, it will be the last thing you want your readers to now and walk away remembering. [Add the answer of the question in the Introduction, if you asked one.])
