Yes, a 'D' is considered a passing grade in grades K-12. However, in most college courses, you have to get a 'C' or above in order to pass their courses (even a 'C-' won't cut it in college, unfortunately). Of course, if you are struggling in any academic courses, you can always turn to tutors for assistance where-, how-, and whenever you need it! At the school I teach at, a "D" does count as a passing grade. However, if you plan to attend college, it's important to raise your grade point average so that schools will be more likely to accept you. Of course, colleges do look at other things, too, such as your standardized test scores, the quality of your admissions essay, and the extracurricular activities that you are involved in, but your GPA is very important, too.
