Hi, Mashia! Great question. I did some research about the industrial organic food chain. The difference between it and the traditional organic food chain is the fact that the industrial organic food chain industrializes the production of organic food. While industrial organic farming adheres to many guidelines that traditional organic farmers adhere to, such as the avoidance of pesticide usage, it also veers away from traditional organic farming in that food can be mass-produced, processed and shipped across long distances. Mass production, processing and long-distance transportation of food are all harmful to the environment due to the fact that these processes usually use fossil fuels. The overuse of fossil fuels is contributing to global warming, which is increasingly harmful to humans, plants and animals alike. Scientists predict that global warming will result in an increase in droughts, severe and destructive storms, floods and a reduction in the global water supply. If that happens, all living things that depend on water for hydration and growth will be harmed, animals whose habitats are in or reliant on water will die out, and people, plants and animals will be victims of the destructive storms, hurricanes and floods.
I hope this helps some.
