Hi! I read this a couple times and think I may be of some help.
- I believe “what a thrill!” can be seen as a hyperbole as it is not usually a thrill to walk the dog, especially someone else’s.
- I think an example of an understatement would be where the driver asks “What’s that you’re going to break my what” because it doesn’t seem like it was asked with much excitement or fear but this added a little humor to the situation when he made for a quick escape.
- I think an example of irony in the text would be the Celebrity bus tour because one would think they were paying to possibly see some actual celebrities when really they’re just seeing the people who work for them. The reader may thunk they’re going to read about the lifestyles of the rich and fancy when in actuality they’re reading about everyday people doing everyday things.
