Writing an essay is like making a case in court. The claim is only as strong as the evidence you have assembled to prove it. I would approach this by breaking it down into several sub-questions.
- What is fashion? How is it defined? What is its function in society?
- Ask those same questions in #1 from a historical perspective. What are the origins of fashion? How has it changed over time.
- Define "important". Give examples of what is important to society, and what is not. Where does fashion fit in on this spectrum?
Once you have answered these questions, you will be able to make a defensible thesis statement.

Well, the changes in fashion reflect the processes taking place in society. We can speak about it as a way of creating new forms of behavior. Over the centuries, people could notice how fashion trends changed, what human values did they represent. If I wrote an essay on this topic, I would follow this template: 1. Introduction: - Set the tone (you can start an essay with a curious quote or challenging question). - Provide the thesis statement of the essay; add a brief description of the basic ideas. 2. Body: - Start with the strongest argument. - Each body paragraph should focus on a single point, idea, reason, or example to support the thesis statement. - The first sentence of each paragraph should sound like a mini-thesis. - The remainder of the paragraph may include supporting sentences (at least 4 to each paragraph), addressing both the topic sentence and the thesis statement. 3. Conclusion: - Come back to the basic ideas of the essay and restates the thesis statement in an original way. – Summarize the essay content that has already been presented, do not give any new ideas. – Summarize the argument under discussion - the author’s position has to be strong. This section represents your last chance to persuade the reader. Also, I would like to recommend reading this essay example: https://ivypanda.com/essays/fashion-changes-in-society-and-culture/ . In my opinion, its structure is simple but comprehensive.01/08/21
