Writing Tutor--College Essays, Research, and Writing Anxiety
Hi there! Picking a research question is a Goldilocks formula--a big enough question that you can write extensively about it within your page limit, but not too big that you bite off more than you can chew. To start, I recommend going through your class notes and picking out umbrella topics that are super interesting to you, and you'd like to learn more. Follow your gut! What you find interesting is not only going to make writing interesting for you, but it will come through in your writing as well.
From there, you can search key terms in a database like Google Scholar, and look for some peer-reviewed articles. Check the citations for more relevant articles, and work to develop a unique research question and tentative thesis.
I'm happy to meet with you if you'd like to talk more in-depth. My prices are flexible!!
