Ipsita: Because the assignment is one paragraph and 100-200 words, make every word count. When you finish, edit it several times to get rid of extraneous words. I would recount a personal experience rather than give a lecture, which most people don't want to hear and because proving a point requires several paragraphs. If the experience is funny, or poignant, or tearful, you will grab the reader's attention. I'm giving you a list of contronyms, single words with opposite meanings, to help you get started. Often, to get started, I pick a good one. The following words may stimulate some thought. 1) apology - statement of contrition or defense of a thesis 2) bolt - to secure or to flee 3) bound - heading to a destination or restrained from movement 4) cleave - to adhere or to separate 5) dust - to add fine particles or to remove them 6) fast - quick or stuck, or to refrain from eating or drinking 7) left - remained or departed 8) peer - a person of nobility or an equal 9) sanction - to approve or to boycott 10) weather - to withstand or to wear away. Why not try out the first paragraph, the "entrance"? The topic is travel and tourism. Start with an exciting question. Let the starting question lead to a few more questions in paragraph one. Build the paragraph so the final sentence of paragraph one raises a strong question or issue. Here's a sample of an opening question, but you can also find one that fits your interest and style. October of Covid 19, could any time seem more appealing to leave one's 24-7 home and visit a safe but exciting country? The only question is where.
