The death of Grandmother was not tragic in the sense of being unexpected or dramatic. She simply let nature take its course. She knew her time in this life was done, accepted it, made her preparations and let her soul move to the place she believed in. While those left behind don't always understand the mindset of those about to die, or why the dying have such peace, we see the process play out over and over in life.
I have been privy to many deaths of cancer patients, elderly and my own family members and watched this same concept play out. There seems to come a moment that they just become peaceful.
We will not know what they are thinking, or feeling, until it is our turn. We just need to realize they knew it was their time and took ownership of their journey.
