Hi Camille,
While I cannot give you the exact answer for this test (as that would be considered cheating), I will tell you that the correct answer lies within one of the two sentences that contain commas. Read each of those two sentences to yourself (more than once if necessary). Then determine which one sounds correct to your ears, and based on the written content each sentence displays.
Good luck with the test!

These sentences are testing your ability to find dangling modifiers. So, if you have a descriptive word or phrase (modifier), it should be next to the word it's modifying or describing. If it's not, it will sound silly once you notice that the modifying phrase is next to the wrong verb and makes it sound like an object is late for school or a street is riding in a car.

There is is only one sentence whose subject is correctly tied to its modifier. (sentence 1: who is killing themselves? sentence 3: who is looking for his coat? Sentence 4: who is walking to the shore?) The answer to these questions is the subject of your sentence. The modifier (the "-ing" word in these cases) should correctly tie to the subject. If it doesn't, it is a dangling or misplaced modifier. Btw, the second sentence is about verb consistency. Are the verbs in the main clause and depedent clause consistent?06/25/20
