The "Battle of Britain" refers to the time period in which German military leaders, led by the head of their airforce, Hermann Goering convinced Hitler they could bring about England's surrender through use of their airforce, the Luftwaffe.. Prime Minister Churchill rallied the British people, and the RAF (Royal Air Force) using a new invention, radar (Ultra) defended the nation, and simultaneously attacked Germany from the air.
