This topic is a very easy and timely one to write about. I will provide a few suggestions in the forms of prompts for you to consider before and as you are writing your essay.
All you have to do is look around you and see how teenagers act when they are around other people versus when they are on their phones doing whatever they please. Are there differences (for better or for worse) in their behavior and interactions with the real-life world around them? Plus, use your own knowledge and experience with social media (if you use it). Have you ever come across people who (according to their online profiles) appear or sound like they might be younger in age based on their pictures or the ways in which they write posts or as part of online chats? How do those underage individuals compare to adults in their online auras? Do you yourself believe that teenagers should have open access to social media? Why or why not?
As you provide examples for each of the above prompts (if you choose to consider them when preparing to write your essay), you will find yourself forming main ideas, a thesis statement within your introduction, closing with a solid conclusion restating your argument. As always, make sure each main body paragraph contains only one idea. Every time you come up with a new idea, make sure that you effectively and smoothly segue from the idea(s) previously discussed in earlier paragraphs within your essay to each of your new ideas so that your reader/teacher can comprehend what you are arguing contextually.
Good luck with the essay! I am sure you will come up with a terrific thesis and raise valid points to reflect this essential topic of everyday society and discussion.
