This can be solved multiple ways. Let's do it with a ratio. You travel 78km / 1hr and want to know how many hours it would take you to travel 234km. The ratio you need to solve for is therefore 234 km / x hr. You set up your equation: 78km / 1hr = 234km / xhr, and multiply each side by xhr to get the equation 78km * xhr = 234km. (The 1hr on the left side of the equation cancels out because you are dividing by 1). Then, you divide both sides of your equation by 78km, and get xhr = (234/78), or xhr = 3. It will take you three hours to travel 234km!
