Math problem need help.

Use the function to find the following values if any Exist. Need help don’t understand please explain each.

F(x)= 2x-1

(a) f(3+4)

(b) f(3) + f(4)

(c) f(3) - f(4)

(d) f( 3.4)

(a) f(3+4) it means f(7) = 2(7) - 1 = 13 anoth meaning (7,13)

(b) f(3) + f(4) it means you need to find every of them then add together

2(3) -1 + 2(4) -1 = 5 + 7 = 12

(c) f(3) - f(4) it means you find every of them then subtract

f(3) = 2(3) -1 = 5 and f(4) = 2(4) - 1 = 7

(c) = 5 - 7 = -2

(d) f( 3.4) it means first you find inside of parentheses that it is 12 then find f(12) = 2(12) -1 = 23 looks like number (a) you have point such as (12, 23)

You are being asked to EVALUATE a function f(x) or y at a specific particular value of x.....

F(x) = 2x -1 so f (1) = 2(1)-1 = 2-1 = 1 f(5) = 2(5) - 1 = 10 -1 = 9

now.....f (1+ 5) = f(6) = 2(6) - 1 = 12 -1 = 11

f(1) + f(5) = 1 + 9 = 10..........does not equal.....f(1+5) = f(6) = 11

....I will let you evaluate the function for the values in the problem to get the NECESSARY PRACTICE for success in math....right?
