I am a certified Texas Teacher
Here's what we know:
Last year, Savannah had 40 blooms
This year she has 15% more
Remember:
To move 15 into a percent, we move the decimal over to the left two spaces. Since there is no decimal point, we place it at the end and add zero. :)
15= 15.0
Move the decimal to the left two spaces= 0.15
15% =0.15
Now, we will determine 15% of 40
40 multiplied by 0.15
40(0.15)=6
So this year, Savannah has 6 more than last year.
