Unlock Academic Success with a Calm, Personalized Approach
Today was my turn to present my project to my biology class. I chose to present on the biome, which is a large region of Earth with a particular climate and certain living things. I am very environmentally friendly, so I told the class that littering is wrong and many littered items are not biodegradable. I could see my audience roll their eyes. One student in my class even put on headphones with the audio turned up loud enough for everyone to hear. I continued with my presentation despite his rude interruption. I used a powerpoint presentation with embedded video links to serve as an audiovisual aid. I continued to say that the Earth is more sensitive than we may think. If we get hurt, we can apply an antibiotic to a surface wound. If we get into a major accident, we even have the technology to get a bionic limb. If the Earth gets “hurt”, it is not so simple. I posed a question to the class: What do you think happens to biohazardous waste products? The class was silent. I concluded to say that waste companies ought to be audited to see where their funds are being allocated. The last thing we want is having waste dumped into our beautiful oceans.
