The incorrect answer, l would maintain, is c. The Roaring Twenties had Americans clamoring for all kinds of new technologies for the home and for other areas of their lives. Yes, there were speakeasies and bathtub gin, but the greatest amount of money went toward American households buying on credit the many new appliances following the first world war. This spending created a huge debt bubble which finally burst in October of 1929 that spiraled the United States, and, indeed the whole world, into a a great economic depression.
