No, it does not need to be capitalized. The only time you would capitalize it is if it's use as a proper noun.
For example, "I was late, so Coach made me run laps."

In the second case it is not used as a proper noun, so no, it does not need to be capitalized.

The same pattern applies to other titles: When you use them with the person’s name, they become part of the proper noun and need capitals. When you use them in a general way, to talk about coaches (or even presidents) as a group, they are common nouns, like “athlete.”

Banking on what my comrades have stated here...no, coach does not need to be capitalized at the end of the sentence. Unless you are once again stating Coach ________, then coach is not a proper noun; therefore, coach does not need to be capitalized.
