Does R L Stevenson's Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde have a hidden anti-science agenda?

In the novel [*Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde*](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strange_Case_of_Dr_Jekyll_and_Mr_Hyde), Dr. Jekyll creates a serum that turns him into Mr. Hyde. Mr. Hyde commits several crimes. Even though Dr. Jekyll recognises Mr. Hyde as evil, he cannot resist the temptation to drink the serum again. The serum is the result of scientific research. Does this mean that there is a hidden (or perhaps not so hidden) anti-science agenda in R. L. Stevenson's novel?
