1/2 = 5/10 which is 5 times as much as 1/10. They ate 4/10 more, (5/10-1/10) which is 2/5 of the cartoon. 4/10=2/5=0,40 more. Or in percentage terms, they ate 40% more of the cartoon.
But that doesn't seem to be what the question is asking. 5/10 is five times 1/10, 500% as much, with the difference of 4/10 as 400% of 1/10. So they ate 400% more the 2nd week, in actual quantity comparison.
