Writing performance improves and matures with lots of practice and feedback on topics the student enjoys and prefers.
The more one writes on self-selected issues and prompts--and receives feedback on its effectiveness and ways it might be improved and enhanced, the better one gains control over how and what they write.
Such control in writing is relevant throughout life in essays and written assignments as well as personal and professional emails, text messages, and marketing.
