The embryonic structure involved is called the mesodermal germ layer. I remember this because the word mesodermal begins with an "M" which could stand for middle or middle of the body. The mesodermal germ layer ultimately becomes the myocardium (heart tissue) and endothelium (tissue for the inside of organs).
