most introns are under 20kbp in length. there are a few over 500kbp, but thier number is low enough not to be a worry. There theortically isn't a maximum limit in size not counting the individual chromosome length, but predicting a gene's size(w/introns) isn't the easiest thing to do from raw sequence data. knowing the coding sequence and a bit about intron/exon borders will go a long way in finding the limits a given gene's size.
