While there are variations to the phrase: "Rabbits", "Rabbits, Rabbits, Rabbits", "White Rabbits", etc. there isn't exactly a credible source that truly explains the history of this magical saying. However, the origins seem to resort to New England as a superstitious phrase. This phrase is meant to be said on the first day of the month in order to ensure good luck for the rest of the month.
Fun fact, even President Franklin D. Roosevelt believed in the power of superstition and would say this phrase.
