Hi Farhan,
The symbol {2,4} is called set notation, and is a list that contains only two numbers.
The symbol (2,4) is called interval notation, and is a list that contains every number between 2 and 4. This would be millions of numbers because it also includes numbers with decimals.
Depending on the type of problem, (2,4) is also used to graph a point. (2,4) would be the point in an xy-plane that has an x coordinate of 2 and a y coordinate of 4.
Please let me know if I can be more helpful, thanks!
Joe
