hybridization the formation of hybrids results from inbreeding or cross breeding. the hybrids from the parents have high vigour compared to parents. the hybrids are however infertile or sterile because they have different number of chromosomes from the parents that are not compatible with other species and also the gametes produced are not viable. these scenario prevents the spread of genes across the population.
